GENERAL INFORMATION

  • SEDBSL Will Provide Uniform Tops and Hats Each Season
  • Players Are Responsible For Additional Equipment Including: Belts, Socks, Cleats, Gloves, Bats etc.
  • Coaches Provided With Equipment Bags Containing: Helmets, Catchers Gear, Practice Bases, Practice Balls, Game Balls.
  • 1 Game, 2 Practices or 2 Games, 1 Practice per week 
  • Practice Fields Depend On Allocation from DPR/DPS and Field Permits (Not Guaranteed)
  • Practice Fields Allocated To Older Divisions First
  • Scholarships Available Upon Request Based On Need

Age Cut-Off

April 30th

Register your athlete by the age they will be BEFORE the age cut off date above.

Season Length

11-12 Weeks

Spring/Summer season starts mid April and concludes at the end of June.  End of Season All-Star tournaments start early July and can run through the end of August

Practice Days

1-2 Per Week

Practice days/times are determined by coaches based on availability of fields and times.

Game Days

1-2 Per Week

Game days/times are assigned by the league.  Expect 1-2 games per week with one of those games on a weekend.  A total of 12-14 games will be played.

Schedule Outlook

12-14 Games

Mid-week and Weekend games.  Schedules are dependent on field availability through the city.  End of season tournaments for ages 7-15.

Fall Ball Season

Sept - Oct

6 Weeks, 6 Games, Only on Sunday. Purely a developmental season that allows players to play up to the level they anticipate playing next spring.  

BASEBALL DIVISIONS

Teams are predominantly built on player/coaching requests. In cases in which no request is made, players will be placed on teams based on geographic location or school attended. Note: if you know your coach request, you’ll have an opportunity to include that when registering on-line

COACH PITCH

5/6

5/6’s Description: Basic concepts taught using combination of Coach Pitch/T-Ball. No scores or standings kept. Players are assigned to teams meeting twice weekly, including weekends. Practice will begin in April with games in May/June. Field: 46′ Mound 60′ Bases

INSTRUCTIONAL

7

7’s Description: Emphasis on instruction with introduction to competition. Scores/standings kept with a tournament after the regular season. Coaches pitch to the players. Players are assigned to teams meeting up to three times weekly, including weekends. Field: 46′ Mound 60′ Bases

INSTRUCTIONAL

8’s Description (Same as 7’s): Emphasis on instruction with introduction to competition. Scores/standings kept with a tournament after the regular season. Coaches will pitch to players using a machine. Players are assigned to teams meeting up to three times weekly, including weekends. All-Star team(s) selection for participation in Cal Ripken/BR Tournament(s). Field: 46′ Mound 60′ Bases

ROOKIE

9

9’s Description: Emphasis on instruction and competition. Scores/standings kept, with a tournament after the regular season. First season of Player pitch. Players can choose to move up with their team from the 7/8 division OR by team/coach request…all other players will be assigned to a team. All-Star team(s) selection for participation in Cal Ripken/BR Tournament(s) Field: 46′ Mound 60′ Bases

ROOKIE

10’s Description: Instruction and competition emphasized. Scores/standings kept with a tournament after the regular season. Players can choose to move up with their team from the 9 division, OR by team/coach request…all other players will be assigned to a team. All-Star team(s) selection for participation in Cal Ripken/BR Tournament(s) Field: 46′ Mound 60′ Bases

ROOKIE

11/12

11/12’s Description: Increased emphasis on full baseball rules and competition. Scores/standings kept with double elimination tournament after the regular season. Players can choose to remain with their team if they played for that team in the 10yo or 11/12 division, OR by team/coach request…all other players will be assigned to a team. All-Star team selection for participation in Cal Ripken/BR Tournament(s) Field: 50′ Mound 70′ Bases

ROOKIE

13-15

13-15’s Description: Increased emphasis on preparation to enter High School. Scores/standings kept with double elimination tournament after the regular season. Players can choose to remain with their team if they played for that team in the 11/12 division, OR by team/coach request…all other players will be assigned to a team. All-Star team selection for participation in Cal Ripken/BR Tournament(s) Field: 54′ Mound 80′ Bases

COMPETITIVE DIVISIONS

SEDBSL separates competitive (Tournament level) teams from recreational teams. The competitive divisions are scheduled to play games during the week and have no scheduled games on the weekends to allow for tournament competition. Competitive teams have a chance to be considered for the Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth All-Star trail as the representative for Southeast Denver and potentially the state of Colorado. BAT STANDARDS

As of 2018, per Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth, all divisions must use Team USA stamped bats not to exceed 2 5/8″ barrels except where noted.
